Yes, I Flew to The Bahamas…for a Hair Appointment. And Honestly? Worth. Every. Second.

Bahamas Hair Appointment

No, this is not a drill. Yes, I really did hop on a plane, passport in hand, and cross international waters just for a hair appointment in the Bahamas. And before y’all start—yes, it was absolutely worth it.

I hesitated to post this because I’ve seen the debates. The endless TikToks. The side-eyes at women traveling across the globe for hair appointments. But listen—when you’re Black, your relationship with your hair isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s history. It’s culture. It’s identity. It’s not just hair. And if you know, you know.

So when THE @BeautyByBekuh—the woman who put the Crochet Vixen on the map—said, “Come to me,” instead of waiting for her next U.S. trip, I booked the flight. A quick 30-minute hop from Miami, no visa stress, no money exchange nonsense. Just a flawless install in three hours and a few days in a country where Black people run tings—not tings run we.

You cannot tell me this isn’t my hair. I wear it up, down, parted on the side and down the middle and it’s flawless.

I am not a hair influencer–maybe I should be, lol. I don’t do tutorials. I don’t push products. But what I do know? A good hairstyle and an elite stylist when I see one. And I do not gatekeep.

This style? It’s that girl. Protective, versatile, lasts three months. Every time I step out, people stop me to ask, “Who did your hair?” So here it is, my formal PSA:

If you’ve been on the fence about getting the Crochet Vixen, get off the fence. Book the flight. Book the appointment. You only live once, and your hair deserves this kind of magic.

Check out my video recap of my trip below!  If you have ANY questions about this hairstyle–hit me up! I’m here for you!
