SEIU-UHW E-Board Discusses Juneteenth & LGBTQ+ Pride

Jasmyne Cannick speaks on a panel for SEIU-UHW.

Report back!

I had a great time this week at SEIU-UHW’s e-board meeting in Anaheim. I joined fellow panelists my sista Dr. Melina Abdullah, Founder of BLM Los Angeles, Mario Trujillo, the first openly gay mayor of the City of Downey, and Vincent Jones, California Democratic Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Director for a discussion on the intersection of the Black Liberation Movement and the LGBTQ liberation movement. The conversation was hosted by the union’s AFRAM (African American) Caucus and Lavender (LGBTQ) Caucus to celebrate Juneteenth and Pride Month. Thank you for having me!
