It’s time for an Ozempic check-in!
I wish I had more exciting news to share–but I don’t. It’s been months of holding steady at around 205 pounds, and while I’m proud of the progress I’ve made, I’m ready to break through to that elusive goal of being under 200 pounds. This election season didn’t make it any easier—stress eating during campaigns is real, especially when long days mean grabbing whatever’s quick and convenient.
And now, here come the holidays with all their delicious temptations. It’s the season of sweet potato pies, dressing, and second helpings, and let’s not even start on my obsession with eggnog! Balancing celebration and discipline is going to be a challenge, but I’m determined to enjoy the season without losing sight of my goals.
One of the toughest lessons in all of this has been accepting how differently my body loses weight now that I’m in my 40s. I wanted to drop pounds like I could in my 20s and 30s—fast and with minimal effort—but that’s just not how it works anymore. It’s a slower process now, and I’ve had to adjust my expectations and give myself grace.
Adding to that, this year has been an emotional rollercoaster, and that hasn’t helped my weight loss either. Stress, sadness, and just trying to keep it all together have made it harder to focus on consistency. I’ve been giving myself space to feel those emotions without letting them derail my progress entirely.
Social media doesn’t help either. It’s so easy to fall into the comparison trap when everyone online seems to be losing weight faster or hitting milestones sooner. But I remind myself that this journey is mine, not theirs. The goal isn’t just a number on a scale—it’s about learning healthier habits, handling stress better, and giving myself the space to go at my own pace.

The pressure to compete with strangers online is real, but I’m not running their race—I’m walking my own path.
It’s frustrating at times, but I’m staying the course because I know my “under 200” moment is coming. For now, it’s one day, one choice, one meal at a time.
