Facebook Advertiser Uses Image of Mitrice Richardson to Promote Medical Billing Classes…WTF?

The genius who pulled the photo of Mitrice Richardson off of the Internet to use as part of an online campaign for Medical Billing classes on Facebook probably should have paid more attention to the site the picture was attached to.  Had they done that they might have noticed that while beautiful she is, the photo belonged was of a woman who is dead—as in deceased.  So using her photo to promote medical billing classes might not be the best idea, if you know what I mean.

Mitrice’s face is currently plastered all over Facebook promoting an ad for something called my.onlineeducationdepartment.org.  A crappy and evasive website promoting vocational degrees that’s more about getting your contact information than giving you theirs.

Well the shit is going to hit the fan now because, one, Mitrice graduated from CSU Fullerton—not from their program.  Two, using the photo of a woman whose death—well homicide (just keeping it real), is still unsolved just isn’t a very smart thing to do. And three, now they have to deal with Michael Richardson and his attorney and so you know it’s on.  Plus it’s just bad business and in bad taste. Most people who know about Mitrice’s death are still very upset that the cause of her death still remains a mystery and well of course there’s the ongoing cover-up and regular fuck-ups courtesy of the Los Angels County Sheriff’s Department.

But you know me, so you know that I did some digging around and finally happened upon some contact info for these folks which I will gladly share so that you too can send them a piece of your mind.  And just for the hell of it, send Facebook and the Direct Marketing Association’s Committee on Ethical Business Practices a heads up as well.  Facebook because after all, the ads are on their website and frankly this is some bullshit.  The Direct Marketing Association’s Committee on Ethical Business Practices because don’t you agree using the picture of a murdered woman to promote medical bill classes is unethical? If you don’t, you’re on the wrong blog.
