If my ancestors could endure 400 years of the brutal, relentless reality of slavery, I can handle four years of a presidency I didn’t vote for.

In this reflection, I explore the complexities of politics and friendship, the importance of boundaries, and how mutual respect can keep friendships alive—even when political opinions are worlds apart.

Aging–lately, when I look in the mirror, I notice the changes happening to my face and body as time gently leaves its mark.

As a Gen X foster care survivor, I reflect on trauma, resilience, and healing, while advocating for support for both youth and adult former foster kids.
I’ve put my time in. I know who I am, what I bring, and why it matters. There’s no rush here, no rehearsal, and nothing to prove.
This is a season of clarity, intention, and forward motion.
